
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][99 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. She was selected to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she was awarded the Silver Boot.
