The singer-songwriter is drawn to her, and constantly checks out the new beats. Many end up inspiring music ideas. "I'll be able to tell within 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. Once I've an idea in my head, I will start writing straight away." My lyrics come to me while I'm sitting on my deck, playing guitar. Most of the time, it's under 30 minutes. Niykee continues to develop her talents as a writer and lyricist. She notes how the trauma she endured through the years has served as an infinite source of unique inspiration. "Even even if I'm not writing about my own life in the open the grief of losing my sister and the pain of my childhood experiences are integrated into my songs," she says. It shapes my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is among the most significant things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I can listen to any one of my songs 20 years down the road and be happy with what I wrote.
