Her debut track Here was released in the year 2015. It was a hugely acclaimed track by both critics and listeners. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the smash as one the the Top Songs of 2015. In that same year she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. Based on an interview she did together with Rap Up, the track had lots of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her personal story of learning to accept and love yourself. Cara includes messages of love and kindness throughout her songs. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia, both of which have influenced her journey. According to a Reuters interview, the album was described as halfway tumultuous, half perfected. People have told her that she discovered her development through therapy. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician born in Canada on July 11, 1996, was a daughter of Italian parents of Italian descent. She was given a guitar from her parents at the time she was 10 years old, which sparked the passion for music. At 13 she began performing her favourite songs via YouTube a major media platform to prove to the world she possessed the talent skills and the determination to be an artist. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being noticed to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label let her write the songs she wrote herself.
